On April 20, 2021, Business School held the appointment ceremony of off-campus supervisors and teacher-student meetings of professional graduates of Master of Finance of USST. Cui Guomin, vice-dean of Graduate School, Zhao Laijun, dean of Business School, Zhang Yongqing, vice-dean of Business School, Sun Yingjun, program director of Master of Finance, Zhang Qinglong, dean of Department of Finance, all on-campus supervisors of Master of Finance, 15 off-campus supervisors, and all postgraduates of professional Master of Finance and some postgraduates of academic Master of Finance attended the meeting. The appointment ceremony was presided over by Zhang Ting, secretary of the Department of Finance.
First, Zhang Yongqing, on behalf of Business School, extended a warm welcome to all hired off-campus supervisors, and thanked them for their contributions to the postgraduate student training program of Master of Finance of Business School, and looked forward to the valuable suggestions for the construction of Master of Finance program of Business School. He pointed out that holding the appointment ceremony of off-campus supervisors and talent training communication seminar is to unify ideas and build consensus under the background of higher requirements for postgraduate education in the country, and laying a solid faculty foundation for the training of postgraduate student of Master of Finance in our school.
Subsequently, Sun Yingjun read out the list of off-campus supervisors and introduced them one by one. The leaders awarded the letters of appointment to each supervisors present. Yong Zhiqiang made a speech on behalf of the hired off-campus supervisors and pointed out that finance is the core of the national economy. He said that the overall status of Chinese financial market will be more prominent under the times when the national economy repeatedly set new highs. There are many topics worthy to be intensively studied in finance, thus he encouraged postgraduates of Master of Finance to show their talents in future academic research. On behalf of all postgraduates of Master of Finance, He Jiasong expressed his gratitude to all the leaders and on-campus supervisors of Master of Finance as well as welcome to the off-campus supervisors. He explained the profound understanding of the appointment ceremony and encouraged students to study and work hard for the development of the Business School of USST.
Finally, Zhao Laijun made a concluding speech. He gave a general introduction of Business School from the history of the school, faculty and staff, scientific prowess, and enrolments of education, showing the unique advantages in the cultivation of finance majors of Business School. He pointed out that the appointment ceremony of off-campus supervisors was a good start to make the program of Master of Finance more perfect, and he also looked forward to working with supervisors to promote the development of Business School.
After the appointment ceremony, the off-campus supervisors communicated with teachers and students of the Department of Finance. During the communication process, supervisors shared their own successful experiences, lessons, and reflections with students, and provided practical suggestions for the career planning of students.
So far, the appointment ceremony of off-campus supervisors for postgraduates of 2020 of Master of Finance and the teacher-student meetings came to a successful conclusion. This meeting set up a good communication platform between Business School and financial institutions, on-campus supervisors and industry elites, and postgraduates and industry seniors. All participants in the meeting expressed that they have gained a lot and were looking forward to achieving more results for the development of Business School.
